Lahore: The Chief Executive Officer of the Ravi Urban Development Authority (RUDA), Imran Amin, announced that the primary goal of the river training works is to rejuvenate the River Ravi. He stated that within a few years, the Ravi will once again flow as a perennial river, with its creek holding 59 billion liters of water, supported by the construction of its first barrage.

During his visit to the river training site, where ongoing works are focused on controlling and mitigating hydrological stress and flood risks, Imran Amin focussed on the long-term impact of these efforts. The river training works involve various structures designed to stabilize the river channel. The purpose is to ensure a specific alignment and cross-section.

The work on packages 1, 1A, 2, and 2B is advancing rapidly. Following his visit to the river site, Imran Amin inspected the Mehmood Booti dump site, where engineers have transformed the area into a modern urban jungle and park. Moreover, a solar power system has been installed, generating 5 megawatts of electricity. He noted that these developments will enhance the beauty of the city.
