Chief Minister Punjab launches Double-Decker Bus Service in LHR

Lahore: Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz inaugurated new air-conditioned double-decker buses in Lahore, as reported according to recent news.

According to the details, dedicated terminals for these buses will be built in DHA Phase 6, Central Business District (CBD), and Safari. The new route will include key stops such as Shadilal Building, Chowberji, and Poonch House.

The inauguration ceremony was attended by Senior Provincial Minister Marriyum Aurangzeb, Secretary of Tourism Farid Ahmed Tarar, TDCP Managing Director Humira Ikram, GM Operations Wahid Arjamand, Project Incharge Ashfaq Ahmed Dogar, and other officials.

The provincial government is considering the construction of a high-speed rail line between Lahore and Rawalpindi.

This proposed rail system is expected to reach speeds of up to 250 kilometres per hour, cutting the travel time between the two cities to less than two hours. The project is estimated to cost approximately $1.6 billion.

Currently, the government is reviewing a proposal for the rail line. If approved, it would mark a major advancement in Pakistan’s infrastructure, providing a faster and more convenient travel option for residents and commuters in both cities.

However, securing the necessary funding remains a challenge. The government will need to obtain significant financial backing to turn this vision into a reality. It’s also important to note that the project is still in the proposal stage at this point.
