In Lahore, Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has launched the “Field Hospitals” Programme to provide healthcare facilities directly to people’s homes.
At the inauguration ceremony, the chief minister expressed the feeling of gratification that the dream she and her father, former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif shared of bringing healthcare to people’s doorsteps has become a reality.
Maryam announced the establishment of 32 field hospitals across the province, with the initiative of 1st one in Bahawalpur. These hospitals will focus on serving villages and remote areas that lack access to healthcare.
She highlighted that these field hospitals will offer outpatient departments (OPDs), immunization services for newborns, maternity services, surgical facilities, and the presence of lady health workers.
The CM emphasized her government’s commitment to ensuring healthcare services throughout the province. She mentioned that numerous field hospitals have been set up within six months since she took office in Punjab.
Moreover, criticising Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), CM Punjab said that containers were previously used for inciting violence, arson, and tearing up utility bills. However, she said they will now be used as platforms for delivering medical aid to people.
Maryam urged critics of her initiatives, especially those scrutinising her videos, to actively participate in public service. She attributed the inception of the field hospitals project to Nawaz Sharif’s visionary leadership.
In short, this programme is a good initiative for the progress and healthcare of the residents of punjab.
