LDA Plans Upgradation of MM Alam Road in PKR 1.23 Billion

Lahore: The Lahore Development Authority (LDA) has finalized an ambitious PKR 1.23 billion remodelling project for MM Alam Road.

This project aims to modernize the area and is expected to be completed within six months of initiation. Key improvements include better pedestrian facilities, underground electrification, and enhanced parking spaces. These upgrades will make the road more accessible and convenient for both shoppers and tourists, addressing ongoing issues like limited parking and pedestrian congestion.

The project will be entirely funded by the LDA, without any financial support from the Punjab government. Local businesses and residents have been consulted, and their feedback has been integrated into the plan. Once finished, the road will become a one-way street, with redesigned pedestrian zones and new parking options.

Property owners who haven’t yet commercialized their spaces will be offered incentives to comply with the new setback requirements. The LDA will begin the project once utility companies complete shifting their services underground. This development is expected to benefit economic condition of country in the long run.
