Revised Plan for Rawalpindi Ring Road Project to be Approved Soon

Rawalpindi: The Central Development Working Party (CDWP) is soon expected to approve the revised plan for the Rawalpindi Ring Road Project, and its budget has now been increased.

According to the details, the budget for the Rawalpindi Ring Road project has been raised to PKR 38.3 billion from PKR 31.3 billion. Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has set a completion deadline for the project by the end of December. Currently, 35% of the work is complete, with the rest expected to finish within the next six months.

An official from the Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) stated that the provincial planning and development department has already approved the revised PC-I, which has increased the project’s cost from Rs. 31.3 billion to Rs. 38.3 billion.

“The revised PC-I has been submitted to the CDWP, and once approved, it will go to the Executive Committee of the National Economic Council (Ecnec) for final approval,” the official explained.

The project, which is 35% complete, may face delays if the revised budget is not approved in time. The road will cover 38.3 km and include five interchanges, with an expected completion date set for December.
