State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) Reports Rise in Pakistan’s Export to United States

Islamabad: Pakistan’s exports to the United States saw a modest growth of 1.62% during the first two months of the fiscal year 2024-25, as per a statement by the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) according to recent news.

According to the data, Pakistan’s exports to the US amounted to USD 949.86 million in July-August 2024, compared to USD 934.67 million in the same period last year. However, on a year-over-year basis, exports to the US in August 2024 fell to USD 473.84 million, down from USD 494.77 million in August 2023, marking a slight decline. On a month-over-month basis, exports also dipped by 0.45%, dropping from USD 476.02 million in July 2024 to USD 473.84 million in August 2024.

In contrast, Pakistan’s overall exports to the rest of the world increased by 7.18% in the same period, rising from USD 4.54 billion last year to USD 4.86 billion this year.

Regarding imports, Pakistan’s imports from the US in August 2024 increased to USD 185.61 million, compared to USD 176.50 million in August 2023. Month-over-month, imports remained relatively stable, with a slight increase of 0.29%, moving from USD 185.06 million in July 2024 to USD 185.61 million in August 2024. Overall, Pakistan’s imports from all countries rose by 13.82% during the first two months of FY 2024-25, increasing from USD 8.38 billion last year to USD 9.53 billion this year, according to SBP data.
