The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) government has launched the “Life Insurance for All” program with seven other flagship projects.

The development projects, to be completed by 2027 were approved in a high level meeting presided over by Chief Minster Ali Amin Khan Gandapur.
The biggest of them all is “Life Insurance for All” which will secure life insurance to each citizen in KP. These households are eligible to receive either half a million, a full million or anything in between as compensation from the government under this scheme whenever their main breadwinner (usually male) dies.
High on the agenda also is a proposal to create a Provincial Islamic Takaful Insurance Company in order to cater for an increasing demand for Sharia permissible insurance services. One major project in this regard is the development of Peshawar-Dera Ismail Khan Motorway (Motorway M14) which will be a 365 km long National Trade Corridor linking KP with Balochistan and Punjab through direct access to KPK via Chashma Barrage, Karak Bahra Link road & DIK bypass on all sides raising opportunities for improved trade & economic interdependence amongst neighboring regions.
During the last month, government has approved a power transaction costing of PKR 54 billion per annum for provincial treasury by endorsing route from Swat to Chakdara through 220 kV transmission line, that will be covering maximum distance of nature nallahs.
This initiative is also one of the basic steps that the KP government plans to take to improve trade and commerce opportunities, by launching a Trade Corridors Hub at Torkham for facilitating smooth trading transactions with Afghanistan as well as Central Asian Republics. A separate cargo railway track from Peshawar to Torkham will boost cross-border trade.
The solarization initiative is part of the Movement, according to which in first phase 65 thousand low-income families are being provided with free power from sun and secondly an additional number of sixty five thousands on easy repayment terms assuring accessibility for all.
These are grand projects which depic the commitment of KP leaders to socio-economic development. They build infrastructure and enhance access for its citizens that will all be completed by 2027.
