The Punjab government has taken a major step to provide housing for low-income families by completing the first round of payments for over 850 applicants through the “Apni Chhat, Apna Ghar” program. This initiative, led by Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, aims to make affordable housing a reality for the people of Punjab.
Over 60 crore rupees have already been distributed to beneficiaries across the province, helping individuals start construction on their own homes. Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif expressed her satisfaction with the program’s progress, noting that many homes are now close to completion, bringing the dream of homeownership within reach for many families. She reaffirmed her dedication to ensuring that every homeless Pakistani can have a place to call home.
Between August 21 and August 31, a thorough verification process was conducted to ensure that only eligible candidates receive support. Maryam Nawaz Sharif also instructed assembly members and Deputy Commissioners to personally visit districts to oversee the distribution process and extend congratulations to the applicants. Assembly members will also deliver congratulatory letters from the Chief Minister.
Additionally, Maryam Nawaz Sharif showed her commitment to continuing the legacy of former Prime Ministers Nawaz Sharif and Shehbaz Sharif, highlighting their efforts toward national development. “We are walking together with you on this path to progress and prosperity,” she said.
With the first installment transferred to successful applicants’ accounts, families across Punjab can now begin building their homes under the “Apni Chhat, Apna Ghar” program, providing a meaningful boost to housing access for many in the province.
